From the air, Rotonda can be identified
by its perfect circular shape, based on the bearings
of a compass and therefore divided into eight equal
parts. Seven of these have been thoughtfully and attractively
developed for residential purposes, with quality homes
constructed in the midst of the many natural lakes,
canals and golf courses. The area is home to a whole
variety of wildlife including raccoons, tortoises, pigs,
bobcats, alligators, turtles, armadillo and many species
of birds. These wilder inhabitants can be spotted enjoying
the safe and peaceful habitat throughout Rotonda. The
eighth segment in the compass is a dedicated conservation
area and nature reserve.
Approximately ten minutes drive from
Rotonda are the white and often deserted sandy beaches
of the Gulf of Mexico with its crystal clear, warm,
turquoise waters which are home to a whole array of
sea life.
